Annual Seed and Seedling Giveaway

Saturday, May 22, 2021
10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
At Mac Market

(Restocking every hour so no need to come at earliest time)

In May of each year, we sponsor and organize a fruit and vegetable seedling give away. We get most of our plants from a generous donation from Dave and Bev Norman. They grow many varieties of fruits and vegetables in their green house to give away to those who want to start a garden and may not be able to afford the start up costs. Others donate extra seedlings that they have grown for their own garden. In 2020, in spite of the pandemic restrictions, we gave away over 500 plants to approximately 80 families.

This year our Plant and Seed Give Away will be held at Mac Market on Alpine Street on Saturday, May 22nd, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Parking is limited but near the Flag and Wire Coffee Shop is plenty of parking for those who can walk the 4 blocks to Mac Market. Look for signs on which door to enter for the plant give away. Bring your own box or bag to put your plants in. Inside Mac Market (besides delicious food and drinks) will be the Seed Library where you can get free seeds. Also, Horti-evangelist, Ramsey McPhillips will be there to answer your gardening and composting questions, including “what is bio-char and why do you need it?” If you have extra plants you would like to give away, please bring them with you when you come.

See you there!
